Meet Your Instructor

instructor lulu chen

Hello, I’m Lulu—an award-winning animation filmmaker and illustrator. I’ve worked on major productions including Spider-Verse 2, illustrated book covers for NYT bestselling authors, had my work featured on the largest commercial screen in Asia, and my independent student film has won multiple awards at international festivals.

I created Bring Your Art 2 Life to give creators access to the essential animation and illustration skills and workflows needed to push their work out into the world. It combines professional mentorship and community support—resources that usually come from expensive 1-to-1 critiques and isolated online courses—alongside real paid collaboration opportunities with major creators, where members build professional portfolios on projects seen by millions of people around the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Do I Need Before Starting?

To get the most out of this community, I recommend investing in an iPad, Apple Pen and Procreate Dreams. You can also use other softwares like Toon Squid, Blender etc.

Can't I Learn All of This on YouTube?

YouTube is an incredible resource, with more free animation and illustration tutorials than anyone could ever watch. We even encourage members to explore and learn from great creators online.

The problem with learning only from YouTube is that it’s fragmented. You end up jumping between styles, methods, and opinions—re-watching the same basics, searching for partial answers, and rarely getting clear feedback on what you specifically need to fix.

What’s missing is structure, critique, and accountability.

Bring Your Art 2 Life exists to help you learn faster by giving you a clear path, professional frame-by-frame feedback, and a committed community that keeps you creating and finishing work—instead of endlessly consuming content.

So the real question is: what is your time worth?

If you’re happy spending months piecing things together on your own, YouTube is a great place to stay.

But if you want guidance, feedback, and real progress without learning alone, BYA2L is built for that.

If your time isn’t worth investing in yet—stick with YouTube until it is.

Why Should I Invest In Bring Your Art to Life! Before Investing In Another Animator's Bootcamp or Course?

Because learning animation and illustration the traditional way is far more expensive and slower than most people realise.

Many creators spend tens or even hundreds of thousands on animation school, only to graduate without ongoing feedback, mentorship, or a clear path to finishing work. Others pay $300–$1,000 per session for private frame-by-frame critiques, which adds up quickly and still leaves them learning in isolated pieces rather than building a complete skill set.

Bring Your Art 2 Life was built as a more affordable alternative. Inside one focused community, you get structured learning, professional frame-by-frame feedback, live workshops, and real collaboration opportunities without the financial burden of animation school or the ongoing cost of private critiques.

More importantly, you’re not doing it alone. You’re improving alongside other serious creators who show up, share work, and push projects into the world.

So the real question is: what is your time, money, and creative momentum worth?

If you’re happy piecing things together slowly or paying premium prices for fragmented help there’s nothing wrong with that.

But if you want guidance, accountability, and long-term growth without spending thousands, Bring Your Art 2 Life is an investment that pays for itself long term.

What Skill Level Is This Program For?

Bring Your Art 2 Life was designed to take creators from complete beginners to confidently bringing characters to life through animation and illustration.

It doesn’t stop at learning the basics—you’ll also develop your own style, receive professional frame-by-frame feedback, and work toward finished projects inside a serious creator community.

The most common thing members say about BYA2L is that it finally makes progress feel clear and enjoyable, instead of overwhelming or isolating.

We’ve helped creators at every stage—from those starting from zero to experienced artists who want structure, mentorship, and real opportunities to level up.
